Can it be done without serial? This one on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Delta-5-5-rib-...item2eaecc5086

The topcoat on the upper side of the hull(that is not newly painted) close to the tube is looking very detoriated(color), wonder is 1998 a realistic build year? Somehow looks older, but might be that heavy use does the same?

Delta 5-5 on ebay

That is my rib that you have mentioned. You obviously have not got much experience with ribs. I think that you are out of order commenting on these points when you have not seen the rib up close. I told you on the phone last week that there is a number on the transom but couldnt tell you as it is 80 miles from my house at my summer home.

He is simply asking straightforward questions rearding a prospective purchase, why's this out of order?

Just playing devil's advocate here... but he's asking a pertinent question. You're selling, he's potentially buying. Is it not reasonable that you should have this information at hand? Nice Delta by the way.

He spoke to me last week regarding all of the above. I did tell him that we wouldnt be going to the boat untill after the auction had finished. He wanted me to drive 80 miles to get the serial number and he would buy it. Which i didnt have time to do hence the reason for going down after the auction had finished. I have a receipt with the year on from the previous owner. With regards to him commenting on the paintwork. The rib was previously antifoulled and we painted it last year.

regards

I have all the information to hand apart from the serial No.

The rib has been brilliant, only reason its for sale is i have bought a Blyth Catamaran.

Cheers

I definitely did not want to upset anyone, and the explanation regarding summer home is fair enough. Secondly, there is only one reason i need to know the age and that's the (*******censored ) CE regulation, not a problem for any buyer here in UK. In fact I would rather se that the boat would be older than 1998, but that we don't know for now and better not speculate about that.

As also mentioned in the add, age is not checked, I hoped that this would be a potential place to ask this question. Most likely here is best expertise available, as many here have owned a Delta, in fact i hoped it would have been a ribnet members ex boat.

Its a nice boat and believe me, i would have seen it up close if i could. But i have slightly longer distance than 80 miles

If anyone have some educated guesses, please PM instead of posting here, I do not want to disturb seahunters auction in any way.

Seahunter, sorry for upsetting, question asked in good faith, and reason only to get information enough to bid on your boat.
