decision decisions, searider!

right, somebody kindly pointed out another 4m searider for sale at a bargain price - had a chat with the owner and sounds an ideal donor boat to transfer all my stuff too - its 120 miles away (I know this is going to be a ball ache) - the only thing is its older than mine, has 2 small patches but holds air well, its does send alarms bells ringing, and I fear this could be a total waste of my time, it actually ruined a wholes sleep thinking about it!

My sensible side says wait for something newer, ideally I'd like a solid 5.4 hull anyway and transfer my 60 yam, trailer console etc to that, im going to measure my garage tonight to see whether one would even fit on the trailer, any opinions or wise words would settle my mind as I'd not being very productive at work right now!

Olly, Hi.

Yes the South Coast Ribnet drums were going last night for sure, you know you can't hide!

My two penny worth:-

The suggested SR4 is a bargain.

Your current SR4 is not in a saleable condition to get good money for it.

A combination of parts from you current SR4 plus the other one would give you one good SR4 to use for a while, plus some parts etc to sell on.
Then you'd also be in a better position to upgrade when you want by having the capitol of a good boat to start with.

Give me a call if you need any help or need to bounce idears.

Nasher.

Olly, I wouldn't bother putting your 60 on a 5.4. After owning it on a 4m it'll disappoint you.

Besides, if you procrastinate it'll sell to someone else.

That's what happens on a good sr4

To put it bluntly,my 5.4 is a totally different boat to a 4m regarding comfort in the lumpy stuff(I can't say it'll take any worse weather that my 4m did as I went out in anything in the sr4) but it's no faster on top end and the holeshot doesn't feel as much of an animal-and that's with far more than a 60 on there.
