Been very useful to follow this thread as I am making my first outing down to Dartmouth at the end of July. Thanks for all the info!

Just for info - as Max says, the chap on the kiosk at Coronation Park is Colin Brown, and his number is 01803 835099. Spoke to him today, and he has plenty of room for trailers, and as Max says, the cost is 8 / day. I think I'll launch at Higher ferry, and store the trailer here, rather than go to Blackness.

So I am all set for Sunday. All I need is some good weather:-) As alway, the advice from Ribnet is awesome. If anyone is down that way and fancies meeting up, do let me know.

Blimey, you old tease. Does indeed look nice.

Re' Blackness Marine, still waiting on any follow up to try and get a weekly rate or better rate for small hand launched SIB's but will update this if they get back.

Is anyone else planning to be down Dart way in early August? It would be great to have a SIB/RIB meet up.

Reply to enquiries from Blackness:

Hi,

The charges are as follows and will be tallied during the visit and paid on departure:

Daily Slipway use 15

Boat overnight 6

ALL ABOVE INC OF VAT

The days you don’t launch the 15 won’t apply, the days you do it will.

We can off you a free slipway use for 5 consecutive uses (so 6th slipway use free for you). We don’t have set weekly rates/offers as we accommodate such a variety of requests, types of boat etc so there isn’t a one size fits all.

Our yard is accessible 7 days per week between the hours of 0730 – 2100 July – September, extended over Dartmouth regatta.

As you can “hand launch” I wouldn’t worry too much on tides in your case – if you’re happy launching from the beach is fine too for added flexibility, obviously HW is favourable. For reference though we advise larger boats to avoid 2 hrs either side of a spring LW.

I calculate if we drop the boat off Sunday morning, launch four times and collect the boat Fri PM then it's 90.

Interesting - this is the reply I had from Torquay in relation to launching, using the visitor berths for a week and recovering;

The charge for launching your rib is 10.50 and to recover would be the same again. The weekly charge is 47.00.

Looks a good rate for the mooring. Where do you keep the trailer?

Still going to launch at Dartmouth this time as that is where we have the B&B.

If the weather's inclement in Dartmouth - e.g strong S / SW sea, consider trailering over to Brixham - only 15 mins and launch from there. IF the council have the slipway chap out it's 15 / day to use the slip - although he's more often not around in our experience.
Enjoy your week.
