The Wye

Tim, a trip up the Wye is worth it some pics below of a trip I took up there a few weeks back.

The Severn Bridge (new one) and also Chepstow Castle.

There is a pub a couple of miles up with a pontoon which is useful.

Just don't do what I did last time and try making small stones out of large boulders using your prop by going to far up it and forgetting to keep a close eye on the sounder

Actually, it's not far off a Solent do and if you substitute sodding great spiky rocks for mudbanks the Cornish ribsters would feel at home too...
Scrumpy is great and can turn a sh1t day into quite a good one.... I know this cause I had three pints after I minced my prop on the bottom of the Wye!

Those pics are AWESOME!!!

Hard to believe the castle was built in 1067 - imagine William the Conqueror's ghost staring down and seeing a RIB - wonder what he would have thought??? Probably "What a load of Merde - those tubes would never stand up to some arrows"!!!

Agreed. very atmospheric. You can almost feel the heat from boiled oil being poured on an invader.
