All 2005, could make good project for someone (Dan TD5), how badly damaged is it, probably best to get it surveyed, just looking at the gearbox makes me wince

seen it

valiants don,t bear to well to repairs to the hull can,t quite rember but any
model up to the 4.9 are solas type filled with foam and are sealed. waynes old pt520 had a drain plug at the rear not sure on the dr520

any good repair would need access from above which with sealed hulls can
be a big problem they are not fitted with tube drains to a rear point so any
water that gets in just sit rotting the inside

it may be the dr is fitted with a rear drain point then cutting holes to the deck would be ok
? why as he not had it repaired may be the engine gear box is sagged
which added to the cost of repairs to the hull the insurance company wrote the hole thing off

the worst thing wayne first pt had a problem with the hull just under the rear cross member
ibs the importer just wrote the hole rib off and gave him a new one why did they not repair the old one less than a year old it may be such a big job its not worth it

hi peter

most other uk boat builder would have repaired it or had a go at repairing it
good on vailant just to replace but that in my book makes the hulls not worth
any mayor repairs i wonder our much a bear hull cost is ?

This is the resopnse to my question re valiant .

Item: Valiant 5.2M Dive & Rescue RIB 90Hp Mercury 4 Stroke (4623402613)
This message was sent while the listing was active.
wendysprite is the seller.

Not declared a total loss. I have received a settlement proposal that I am negotiating with my insurers I will have total clarity on this on Monday hence my withdrawal warning. Estimates obtained were for renewal of the hull and complete gearbox so they wont give you any guidance on repair costs. I will send photographs of the damage.

I would have said well over £10k, maybe £11.5/12k judging by the fact its a DR/Patrol Valiant not a vanguard and the fact its a 4 stroke. All IMHO though.
