Was you in an orange rib? Sorry didn't see the make!
No, we were three up in a grey/blue Ballistic 6.5, initially hanging around near the Calshot Spit marker, then a little later waiting near Black Jack to 'cross the road' home to the Hamble river.

Unfortunately the camera battery had packed up by that point in the day so we didn't get any photos.

Well we went out to greet the Royal Princess, despite the thunder and lightning.

She's very impressive - a shame that her arrival coincided with the squall that came through this morning.

and a nice time lapse video, by Matt Pearce from Etch, showing how professional these port guys are at smoothly swinging, proceeding to stern, and berthing 141,000 gross tonnage.

Todays liners

Today late afternoon /eve we covered the liners Royal Princess , Queen Elizabeth, Silver Cloud and Oriana from Southampton.

Fairly usual except a large SUNSEEKER (guess 45-60foot) decided to run from Starboard side across the bows of the Royal Princess about 100 feet ahead of the cruise ship, I wish the harbour authority has been there as he was just showing off . Also a PWC did the same infront of the Queen Elizabeth about fifty feet ahead At this the cruise liner gave five horns

Shame I had my camera in my pocket and could not seen names as was intent keeping away from the fooools
