Pete, it's because we (forum members) do enjoy 'getting out there and doing it' that we should make sure our insurance cover is adequate, (unless we are prepared to accept the total loss of our boat and equipment with no compensation).

If I remember correctly, you were able to claim the cost of the damage to Old Spice from the yachtie's insurance company. If s/he had not been insured, you would probably still be involved in a lengthy and costly court case!

Sorry to bore you - but it is only 2 pages! If you don't want to read it don't do so. I can think of plenty of other threads with a lot less to recommend them than this one!

Nope, his boat would have sunk and he would be been paid a visit.

Wots 2 pages your insurance policy or this thread ? seven and a half by my puter.

What a responsible and adult remark!

I'm sorry to hear about your ongoing claim but please don't resort to silly comments, Pete. You're a much better and bigger person than that! Marki asked for some advice which sparked an interesting debate and has hopefully helped a few people. Why is that boring?

Lou, a year on and its still not fully resolved and he didn't even have the decency to apologise. A visit is due.

Your liberty, your self-respect... in an extreme case, maybe your life!

Your case is obviously very unfortunate but that's no reason to rubbish a thread! Now go back to bed and get out the right side this time!!

Ah, the Pacific Console thread.
Now there WAS a thread for you.
Instant narcolepsy. I could read for 6 or 7 pages and not understand one single word of what people were talking about.
Always seems to me these Pacific wallahs needed to be awefully bright chaps to own boats that were soooo technical and complicated.
The thread is dormant now. Never mind. We cant go all the way through life enjoying ourselves can we?
