I guess it's worth reading the insurance small print alright. Having things in writing is a good reminder.

Step 1: Now where's all our paperwork?

Nearly out to the Rockall Bank

Though where does that get us if it doesn't cover the bits of water in between?
Methinks-Better go dig out policy.
Our brokers are the same as yours, Colin Curtis. With our mishap in the middle of the Channel 2 years ago, we were completely covered.
ps. Our policy's wording is the same as yours.

Had a couple of conversations over the weekend - it seems that there is a "rogue" policy available from a major underwriter which specialises in domestic and motor insurance, which only covers coastal use (ie less than 12 miles from shore) on either side. Their assumption seems to be that you'll take the boat over on a ferry...

Is there a problem telling us who, Richard?

Only that:
1.) It was a private conversation so I would be passing on hearsay that may have been mis-understood.
2.) There's a good chance of the above as copious amounts of alcohol had been consumed.
If I remember correctly, the broker offering the policy was quite open about the limitations when asked about it.

Certainly agree with that philosophy

Except I like the Pacific Console thread...where is it again?

Oh here it is...

Essential reading for wintry evenings...especially if you're building your own boat ...
