Cornwall launching

Hi, since this started as sombody just asking for advice,as I did last year about Cornwall (and got replies without a war starting, whats changed since then?) We were based at the Lizard, and launched at Penzance, loads of room for parking next to slip for car and trailer, brilliant area, and all facilities in carpark. We also launched at Falmouth, but waited until teatime, parked the trailer in carpark next to the slipway, and car in pay and display carpark next door, locals told us did'nt need to pay for trailer, or launching, as no-body there after 1700hrs,may have been even earlier, so another good reason to leave it until then, still had plenty of time on the water, and as Mollers says, excellent area for cruising, even if the weater is naff, still use the river, although a sure there is a speed limit in force.
Had a run over to New Quay without the rib to check out launching, struggled to park the car, let alone a trailer, great place for a visit, but launching off an ever decreasing beach, with an ever increasing queue of people who can't back a trailer up, is not my idea of a holiday, great fun for all the spectators on the sea wall though!!!
Hope that helps, we had a great holiday in Cornwall, and will be back!!
Cheers, Charlie..........

I reckon that this particular 'nobber' is rather more familiar with the M25 than 'Cawnworl'.

Rock?

Digs,

Was down at Rock last week - there are buoys there - either for visitors or permanent.

Rock Marine Services may be able to help.

Was thinking of taking the little 4m down there for a week or so.

Paul Hancock is the Rock Beachmaster he runs the booking of moorings. He can be reached on O7817 314575

Chris,

The one thing I forgot to take down last week was the Beachmasters phone number!

Thanks

Digs,

next down there just after Cowes Week.

Will give you a bell.

Duncan

Booked it

Just got myself a mooring (+- 3.5hrs HW availability) in Rock for 8th - 14th August for the 4m.

About 70 plus 20 ish harbour dues.

Rock Marine Services run a ferry to get you out to the moorings although at 75 for the week it's more than the mooring!

Will let you know how I get on.
