Considering an upgrade

I made the mistake on Saturday of calloing into Joe (Excalibur ribs) after a quick chat he showed me a 5.5m Excalibur hull, just out of the mold. I loved the size and the look and began asking the famous question as to how much is it! basically I would be selling my 4.5m Rib with engine and trailer and be buying the 5.5m rib with tubes and console but with no engine and no trailer however it would be one nice upgrade however at the moment I will not be able to afford a new engine for her(getting married in July) I will have to settle for an old model merc 75hp 2stroke, does anyone know what the LPH are on this type of engine, also what kind of speeds would i be looking at with this on the 5.5m, I have someone ready to have a look at the boat next week with the prospect of buying it, what do ye all think, I'm undecided... I keep going back between keeping my one or getting a new Excalibur.
looking for the smartest move here, what do ye think?

The 5.5m rib is taking from the mold of the R600 (pictured) however the only difference is that my one would be 2ft shorter

My advice is to cancel the wedding and put a Suzuki140 four stroke on the back. If she loves you she'll understand

The other way of looking at it is that a 2- stroke will be a touch lighter so you may get a more sparkly performance.

How old a merc are we talking about here? Is it a Clamshell, or a relatively new machine?

If it's relatively new, I believe most engines of that sort of size have similar transom footprints (Yams certainly do) so you should be able in the fullness of time to unbolt it & bolt a new one straight on.
