Moveable aerofoil devices are banned - besides they have all the lift they need and anything to keep the nose down would slow the boat down - he made a mistake, he had finished his run (it's records week not a race) - the orange buoy marked the end of the measured K. With those boats they need the power of the engine to keep the boat stable, if you lift off without trimming in first that is the result sometimes - I believe the above to be accurate - someone might come along and disagree though!

I was there and it's what i heard as an explanation for what happened,sort of from the horses mouth .
