Absolutely nothing whatsoever.. Flat as a pancake out there.. We have had luvverly boating weather since the beginning of December.. tbh, I am unlikely to go out in weather that "dictates" a rib will handle better than a hard boat.. (whatever the feck that is..

) I just bought a rib and not a speedboat.. What does surprise me, is that lots of peeps with hard boats rarely venture out in the winter.. The sea can be flatter, the pubs emptyier, and town quay not filled with pita's..

Excuse the question, but I've had two boats with the Mercruiser 5.7ltr set-up producing 260hp. Volvo use the same GM 5.7ltr lump, how has it now lept to 320hp? Without blowing it or tuning the bollocks out of it (which would ruin it in a marine application), I'm not sure how they've coaxed another 60hp out of the thing.

Your guess is as good as mine, I have, hopefully attached the PDF of the GXi engine spec that is in mine..... may be that might explain it.

Yank engines are well known for being very unstressed - even 320hp is not a great amount for 5.7 litres!!!

Looking at the pdfs of 2 of the engines it could be down to a marketing stratergy - basically it is cheaper to make engines the same but just alter the chip for different stages of tune. I doubt there is much real difference between either of them.

I most certainly tried to wear it out MM but like most superbly engineered tools and machines it stood up to years of wear and tear and is still perfectly capable!

This is to some degree unfortunate as I came monogamus about 3 stone ago
