my friend in scotland has a 200 opti and his fuel consumption was around the same 2.5ltrs per mile but I'am pushing a much bigger boat dont know if thats the effect of a more efficient hull any ideas on how much the fuel consumption will drop with a 23" prop fitted

200 what, pray? Whatever, it's a reasonably good consumption, assuming 2 stroke?

Yer cain't argue with that. If I'm v careful I can average 1.50-1.75 litres per mile with my 225 Opti. If I'm a bit heavy handed we're looking 2 litres pm. Bearing in mind I don't pull max rpm @ WOT, this could get v thirsty indeed! Nothing could beat my 200 Suzi though - 180 litres per hour @ WOT! This equated to 50 knots = 3.5 litres pm. Ouch!

Etec seems to reward light hands on the throttle, but punishes you quite severely for bruised knuckle driving!
