Clear Sealant

Sirs - Good Afternoon,

I have recently removed a hydraulic lifter, engine and trim tabs from there resting place. All had to be 'mechanically' removed. These items have been on the boat for many years (1995). Any ideas as to the type of - clear - sealer it was?

Mechanically removed as in it took force, or as in it took tools and prying and cutting?

I'd guess some sort of polyurethane sealant/adhesive: Sikaflex, or similar. But, you're the one looking at the stuff. Kind of hard to guess the product from a description.
