I've no idea about this one but there are dozens of decent action cameras on the market just as good as GoPro and much cheaper. I think GoPro have priced themselves out of what is a very competitive market. I mean, how much of a mug do you have to be to buy an action camera for £250 only to find you need to download software before you can use it? They must be laughing all the way to the bank along with Apple and Landrover.

The software is free and they keep coming out top in the tests - they are the market leaders and like Apple a lot of other products are designed with their cameras in mind, having said that more and more competitors are offering cameras that are just as good if you don't want everything a GoPro offers.

All IMHO!

If they're the market leaders, how come my phone camera shoots 4K video at 30pfs?

Personally thinks its good value had a mess with it today does film well. Long time harsh use and dodgy weather will confirm value and durability tho,,,

Couldn't resist it, been fancying a gopro but just couldn't swallow the price for something il use a few times a year. This little camera will do.

I've got to be honest I made a bit of a tube of myself whilst looking for it, I went to Aldi in Elgin then in Inverness, both said they would be in on Thursday with the rest of the skiing stuff, I then checked this thread whilst in Aldi's and noticed it was a Lidl offer! Doh.

Aldi must have a similar thing arriving in store on Thursday.

The stress of going shopping, eh!

You're far better off pouring a glass of something at least 10 years old and then perusing the good ol' tinterweb at your leisure; always avoiding anything for sale containing the word 'project' in the description, of course.

Whisky, Internet and Paypal are a very expensive combo.

You wouldn't believe some of the shite I've bought whilst under the influence.

I think you need to have a look at what else it will do - if everyone was prepared to use their phones for filming action sports there wouldn't be a market at all!

Tidy bit of kit, used it a bit today, playback seems a little "laggy". Maybe it's my old laptop?

3M pads are mega sticky, they won't be coming off in a hurry.

One location on console grab rail, other on the a frame.

I don't think there's anything a GoPro can do that my camera phone can't. So long as your phone is insured, it's in a waterproof case and you've backed up your SIM then what's preventing you using it on the boat?

Send a message via Skype™ to Festinghouse
its also worth remembering that 'hd' and '1080' and '30fps' are only half the story - a lot is actually down the the quality of the light sensor inside the camera. i am keen on cheaper cameras as theyre less risk financially if they get lost or broken, but dont go thinking theyre the same as a gopro. good enough yes, but certainly not the same.
whatever happened to the drift hd camera eh tony?
