Cheap Garmin Handheld gps

Would like a handheld gps with mapping capabilities - something like the GPS60. How much memory is needed to be able to install Bluechart maps and do you get the same level of detail as you would on a proper plotter?

GPS 60 seems to come with either 1mb - 26mb or 60mb. I doubt 1mb would hold any maps but 24 may do. Would love to see some pics of Bluechart on one of these to see what it's like but couldn't find any.

I currently have a GPS12 which is great but obviously no maps.

The other solution would be to use Memory Map and charts on my IPAQ in a waterproof case with my bluetooth GPS.

really only want the unit for backup and to use when exploring in my SIB.

However, all the Mapsource v7 English Channel charts come to a total of 17Mb

So 24mb should be ample then - don't really care about the colour screen - it's a lot extra.
