Has anybody joined / signed up to this, and if so do you have update passage plans every time you go out to make the scheme useful?

no, its just so they have a good idea who they are looking for if you put out a mayday etc. not quite sure why they want to know your usual sea area when in reality you could take your boat anywhere.

oh, and yes im signed up to this, along with quite a number of other people on here. there was a thread on this a bit back. good idea i think.

Yup! been on it for years. I update it annually to keep it current. IIRC if you don't update it at least every 3 years it lapses.

Yep, we're registered - and they email you to update it every now and again.

Still can't figure out how to upload a photo though.. :/

I registered last year, very easy and simple to do online. Do they send you a reminder before they lapse your details?

A very useful scheme. Definitely sign up. If you get into a tight spot, the more info the CG have the better.

You answered my question on if they contact you before lapsing, seconds before I asked it.

I could not upload a photo either. Useful to know you can email them a photo, I may do that.

Pikey Dave, the cg66 is for my own pride and joy which is a "rag and stick" boat. Didn't think it appropriate to list a sailing yacht in my ribnet profile, that would just be asking for trouble on here ;o)

I didn't realise they'd accept CI boats. Did you send a pitcure of the hull upturned, cos in a real emergency that's what they'll be looking for

Yes they do, if you put in a TR with jersey CG with a uk destination they'll ask if you've got a cg66 and they'll forward your details to the nearest mrcc

I had problems doing this too and called them. Apparently the system only supports IE version 6 or the like so if you have a newer version you cant do it.

You have to contact them and email your image and they put it up.
