spent 27years in a cg coast rescue team and CG66 was helpful on occasions...particularly with a home contact number available so we could try and sort out the vessels intentions if the trailer was found in the vicinity of a reported incident. It helps if the name of the boat and if possible "cg66@lpl" is on the trailer to indicate that a cg66 is filed and where (liverpool in the example). I have left the team over the last few years cos I am basically never at home these days so not up to speed with where the system is but at the time it wasnt like the police PNC as it was held regionally and if you travel across country to launch the boat the cg66 wouldnt show up on that area's system. Hence the cg66@lpl. Sometimes a problem with multiple boats with the same name...there are at least three "Seawitch" small boats launching off my home patch but that just means a little more phoneing around.
