Have you checked it's not a ringer?

Based on my experience a few years back;-

Any regular cash deposit of over 5k is flagged to HMRC for business transactions. Single cash deposits of 15k for anybody are flagged regardless of who the depositor is.

I've bought and sold many boats and I normally ask for a same day transfer - costs 20 and is cleared funds.

Take buyer to his bank. Get them to issue a bank draft in front of you, which they hand straight to you. Walk to your bank and pay it in...

If it is nicked I doubt they'll find it over here

If they do take it off me I'll just go back and meet him in another carpark...and take the Glock with me this time

Bit before the young man's time!

Make sure the carpark isn't big enough for it to reach 88mph

Well, grateful as ever fro the wide range of views, I think the risk presented to me is counterfe
it cash - if the buyer's not genuine.

If I can be sure of their identity and address (And I have ideas on how to do this) the real risk to me is low isn't it?

There must be easier ways of passing of dud money than buying a rib - especially mine!
