This makes interesting reading even though nothing to do with Ribs really apart from their rescue boat should have been a RIB!!!
Lots of lessons to be learnt here I think.

Sounds far too much like the Lyme Bay kayak incident in 1993.
I was a kayak instructor at the time and it had reprocutions throughout the industry and spectacularly on the insurance premiums !
I thought that a lot had changed - perhaps not !
