Can anyone identify please

Hi all,

New here so please forgive me if I manage to put my foot in it or post where I shouldn't.

I'm looking to purchase my first RIB over the winter and am currently looking about and trying to get a feel for what I need to spend ( or more accurately how many motor bikes I need to sell), and what will be best for a novice.

A good friend from Scouting has been RIBing (if that's the right word) for years and has given me some pointers to get me heading in hopefully the right direction.

I saw this on ebay a little while ago and wondered if any one had a clue what it is 5.5M RIB | eBay

Answers on a psotcard etc.........

Thanks for looking

Barry

The q&a on the advert says it might be a "corson" [sic]. Certainly Carson did make some "mirror dinghy esque" ribs.

It is a Carson Rib, I retubed one a while back. Originals are PVC bolt on, hulls are built heavy for commercial use.
I think this one is relisted too.

Yup! Carlson for sure. Remember being out on another boat with a very similar Carlson alongside. Went well for sure but beauty is in the eye of the beer holder!

look at 1.32 and 2.35.

Not sure if it wasn't a little longer than 5.5m though

Thanks very much guys,

The boat has been re-listed on ebay without the engine, guy says that he bought it for the engine and has split the two.

I think that the message is that if I can stand the looks (which I really don't mind ) then this could be a good starter for ten.

The lack of a motor doesn't bother me much as I'd have time to tidy he boat and trailer up over the winter and then buy a 4 stroke to fit for next year.

Thanks for your help so far.
