On a alloy hull you can paint or leave bare.

I decided to paint bottom with anti foul and clear cote top hull and topsides in clear Cote as I like the look of alli and clear cote is single pack so can be touched up easy if scratched.

As far as corrosion goes we have four big anodes to stop or inhibit electrolisis should we have a problem.

So inside, bilge etc, will you just leave this bare?

Yes,

We might paint it if you give me a logical and factual reason to do so?

This is your chance to advise me and change the future?

Remember we are using The highest grade of marine alloys.

Sorry, don't know any logical or factual reasons, am sure it's just personal preference!, I think if I could get/afford it, I would like to swill some allachrome around in all the lower parts or any water traps, I have about a gallon I use for treating any small components before powder coating or painting if I can.
When my fuel tanks were made, the company (which has since closed) that powder coated them for me, had massive tanks of allachrome, so both tanks got the treatment inside and out (right bugger sinking the tanks in it, even bigger bugger getting them out again) which is reasuring

Yes the problem with paint is it comes off on alli the bilges cant get much water in as it has a totaly watertight deck.Yes I know nothing is water tight but we have axcess to all parts of the boat if needed.

The Clear cote is applied when the hull is heated up bye blowers and the sides have closed foam pumped unde heat for extra boyancee if holed and tubes are popped she will still float. We have accsees to bilges but its marine alloy down there so a bit of sea water will not hurt it.

Crazyhorse, your doing it again, ask the nurse to up your medication.

As far as I can remember I have never claimed anything about my powerboat other than I will use it in preference to my rib for extended cruising.

As for you considering to purchase a similar boat to mine from Mike Bellamy, equipped with a surface drive, well I just don't believe you. Basically, your telling porkies. At no time has Bellamy had for sale a Cigarette, let alone one fitted with his amazing surface drive.

As for setting up my Falcon, who knows. What is there really to set up. The console was allready fitted, leaving me to fix the glass, have the tube repaired and fit the engine.

The engine is offset, and the cavitation plate height has been raised and lowered a couple of times. As I said a couple of days ago, the speed is reasonable, but the ride is naff, the hull has loads of squeaks and groans, and in the words of a Scorpion owner, "you get what you pay for".

Anyway, I wouldn't concern yourself with my problems, you must be far to busy with your project.

I shall be looking forward to comparing my "setup" with that famous greek racers when he competes at Cowes, spelt with a e.

Dirk

Why dont you speak to Mike Belamy and he will confirm he was selling his racing boat 330hp with a ford running a surface drive and that it had a front cabin on it.After you have done that come back and say your sorry for thinking i was telling pork pies.

As far as Falcon racing boat is concernd you have a second hand boat and therfore if abused as you say then that may be part of the problem.Untill you tell us how to set up a boat then its to soon to tell wethere you have set it up correctly. Can you expand

The perported Scorpian owner has a right to his views but it will be a grave mistake to assume all the boats are the same and that this second hand fixed up boat is a representative egsample of there products.

It will be an interesting time at cowes for sure.

Crazyhorse

I think you will find that the boat that Mike Bellamy has for sale is similar to Jon Fuller's Phantom, not at all like my boat.
