pissing with rain, I can't stand that
Jon, get a drysuit. I can recommend the Ravenspring Rapide (oh, you naughty boy Hart).

My boat is so 'wet' that the rain makes no difference, except that it is normaly warmer than the sea spray!

DM,
Oh right, where were you "dragged up" then?.....no, I keep it in southampton, dry-berth, when your a kid the authorities just tell you your a bad boy, when your 40,......well i'm not sure! it's not really a river boat.
when I finnished building my previous boat "Maelstrom" at home in shepperton, I gave it it's first run on the thames there, nothing naughty, but it didn't look very suitable for the river and one of my old neighbours (from hamhaugh island if you know it) recognised me and called the EA ( I hadn't lived there for 18 years!) so I got a visit from them on the slipway at shepperton lock! unbelievable,

Good idea Keith, but remember I have a poofy hard boat with carpet and upholstery, it breaks my heart when it gets wet, I spend hours with the aquavac afterwards trying to prevent mould! anyway it'll give you guy's a laugh calling me gayboy or something!

Now that's a good one Jon. Buying a boat and not liking it to get wet

As for the 'gayboy' bit, I'll bet you get a few 'visitors' glad of the shelter when the weather is bad though.

Akshully, one lived in Knightsbridge. My Da used to sit on a bl**dy great brute of a horse called Diver guarding E2R and Phil the Bubble all day. Great childhood. It all ended the day he was on duty at St. James's Palace. This Japanese tourist stood in front of the horse and smiled at it. Diver took the hump with this cos' the Jap had got more and bigger teeth, and he became a bit skittish. Da, not being overly enamoured with son of nippon, promptly beheaded the slant eyed little b*st*rd with one sweep of his cavalry sabre. The Japanese embassy was not amused and demanded that heads should roll. HM Govt. pointed out that they already had. Anyway, the upshot was, that even though Da was one of Lizzie's favourite guardsmen, he (and us) was banished to the Wolvo recruiting office to see out his service.

Here boy's, this thread is well on the way to the big 7k record,

also, although I was slagged off and banned and all that, the record number of users online was at the height of my "hit and run" as john calls it, I reckon I was the "christian" and you lot were the "lions" and I suppose I must have thrown myself in the arena!
