got some adds scanned in from a Greek RIB magazine to show what types of cabin RIBs are used in Greece.
By the way according to many foreigh RIB manufacturers (inc many UK ones) apparently Greece is the MOST COMPETITIVE AND DIFFICULT MARKET to get into. Greeks are more particular about their RIBs, need them with lots and lots of stowage spaces and want to be able to do what they call 'nautical camping' i.e. sleeping on teir RIB.
Many of these manufacturers (and also many UK based) for RIBs that are bound for Greece have changed their RIB design to suit the Greek market requirements.
The photo is of a newly built Greek Cabin RIB called HummerHull

This a Cabin Bat

The cabin is aft. Italian design. The Bats have good reputation but with this cabin based aft I think it looks like an 'Indian Grave' rather than a sleeping place. Any way. Enjoy it.

Ok Manos,

You have said greece is cheap for boats.

What price is the big Cabin rib and what motors has it.Is it Ce marked and have you a copy of there GZ curves.

On the quoted Greece is a most dificult market and there customeres are more discerning.

I think you can tell what my answer is to that chestnut.

It isnt printable anyway. There are more rib manufacturers in the U.K than anywhere in the world. If you want a Tuff market then come here with your products and compete.

You will be up against the best and rightley so.

Could not agree with you more Crazy horse. Mr Tony Lee-Elliott is the reputed 'inventor' of ribs, and it is my humble opinion that the Brits build the best ribs in the world. Yes, there are some crap ones, but the good ones (and there are numerous) are the best in the world. BTW, Manos, that Hummerhull thing looks like my Fairline Targa with some tubes glued around it.

Can't say I like the look of ANY of those RIBs. They all look much to leisurely for my liking. Too much like any other sports cruiser but with tubes stuck round the edges.

Yep Mr Tony Lee elliot is one of the over due heroes in this rib buisness, and I for one read all his stuff twice and follow his advice.

He has had a rough ride at times but as we know its not always the right people get to the top for the right reasons.

In my opinion.

Although I said that Greece is a tough market I was actually quoting someone representing a UK RIB manufacturer who is also building RIBs in Greece (near Lavrion) instead the UK. He knows who he is and live it to that. I can't say his name just in case I upset someone. Any way about all these CZ curve staff I don't know whether they have them or not. However, in order to get a CE mark (and this is what matters the most) if this GZ curve thing is a requirement they will most probaly have it. ALL BOATS MADE IN GREECE ARE CE APPROVED otherwise they do not pass GREEK COATGURAD inspection and they do not obtain a seaworthiness certificate by them which is like a Classification Society Certificate for ships.
I, However never said that all Greek boats (of any type inc RIBs) are briliant. On the contrary most of the boats built in Greece are crap with poor finish and electrics (I can tell you stories that will make you wheap or laugh).
I also think that UK built boats (not all but very few also) are very well constructed boats. Rigit and tough made for rough seas.
However, it says something about the Greek RIB market (and I do not mean only Greek built RIBs) that there are abou 200 builders, manufacturers and importers of RIBs ALONE here.
With all due respect there are not that many in the UK and Greece has only 10 million population not 40 million like the UK.
Peace on EARTH LOLOL

I agree with you. However what I'm trying to show is what people use in the Med. These boats except the Hummerhull are built in Italy and not Greece.
So this is what type of Cabin RIBs (for which I think the same as you cruisers on tubes) people use in the Med.
But this defeats the object and the philosophy of a RIB, verstile, easy to launch, tralerable etc
