BSS issues portable gas stove safety alert

http://www.sportsboat.co.uk/editoria...s=14&keywords=

Hi I just spotted the above link and thought it may be of interest. I had considered one of these stoves as being handy for drumming up a hot lunch on the days you want to avoid the pub but will maybe just stick to damaging my liver instead.

Interesting, mine can only be used with the support the correct way up as it cuts off the gas supply when stored upside down.

I find it very useful for days on the beach etc, it lives in a box that also contains everything needed to make a cuppa, and is usually the first thing transfered to the beach from the boat.

Same here as Nasher - is this not abit like telling poeple not to try & heat up thier hands with a gas torch ? ie slight overkill on the H&S fron assuming people have absolutely NO common sense ?

Mines VERY old but I can't see how the support can be tuned the wrong way. But there are lots of different makes.

H&S.....I've not set myself on fire for quite a while, do find it dissapointing when I do though..

You know what they say;
build a man a fire-heat him for a day.
Set him on fire -heat him for life.
