The bearings are made by Knott. Only way I can see of making them waterproof is to fit back to back seals.

I did ask about changing them. As far as I remember they are not torqued up like Alko bearings. I got a bit confused by the end of the show. Too much black stuff and too much info. I am going to talk to Simeon this week, so I shall ask again.
Part of the small print with the bearing waranty is that the trailer is checked by a dealer each year. As my nearest dealer is Blendworth trailers at Rowlands Castle, I have no problem with that.

BTW Simeon is a Honda Powerboat racer, anyone heard of him?

Well. I have done it. I am now the proud owner of a nwe Brenderup 8222B 1800kg trailer with optional walkway (to keep the feet dry) and brake wash kit.

Simeon was brilliant. He met me at Northney Marina with the new trailer. I put my old one along side and he did a bit of calculation "by eye".
We launched the boat off the old trailer and recovered on the new one. A couple of bits needed a touch of adjustment, so back in the water and out with the spanners.
Second recovery showed an almost perfect fit. One or two final tweeks and there she was.
Simeon gave me a good PX price on my old heap of rust. He did not seem too shocked by what he saw, as he had made the offer "sight unseen".

Total price paid.... £1626.00. A bargain in my book.

Now I have to do is find a decent motor. Cheap 150 E-tec anyone?

I think you'll find that he owns an ex honda raceboat, but he doesn't actually race it!
