According to this website it costs 5800 to launch an all weather lifeboat and 2200 to launch an inflatable.

It would be interesting to know how they worked out those figures. 2200 to launch an inflatable sounds a bit steep.

It must included costs that they would incur whether the boat was launched or not..

Dunno but would be interested to find out. The site I linked to reckons those figures don't include depreciation of the boats...

Any RNLI personnel out there?

Slightly off-subject, but.....

I was at the Southwold lifeboat station a few weeks ago, and was supprised to see that they still carry bottles of Martel brandy aboard (it's special RNLI addition - donated by Martel). What's the point - isn't is supposed to be bad for you when your hypertheric?
