Bought my first RIB, Ribcraft 5.85

Hi.

Just wanna tell that for a week ago i bought my first RIB.
A Ribcraft 5.85 with a 115 yamaha. Both boat and engine are from 2006.

It's a great boat and i'm in love

It handles the sea really good. I've been out in pretty bad weather here, and the boat feels very safe and you are always dry when you come home.

It's often choppy sea here in "Kalmarsund", and the waves are also sometimes short and high. But the boat handles this too. You just got to hang on tight and keep up the speed

Remember someone said "I think the human will give up before the boat", and hmmm yeah..... i can agree about that. After a wile jumping in the waves you are getting tired but it is so fun....

I also have plans to install som more equipment like VHF, stereo and sonar.
I think there will be some more question later on.

Great boat!! My 2nd Rib was a 5.45 Ribcraft and I always thought it punched way above its size!! I even took it across the channel!!

Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed mine (and still love my current 7.8 RC!!!)

I have only been on 2 585's but both times i was very impressed with the soft ride and robust build!

I've got a Ribcraft 585 and it's superb a bit heavy but very tough. You always feel safe in it as I hit the bottom of the 20 foot wave we were all convinced that we were going down. The bow stuffed in then lifted us up at an astonishing angle. You will have some fun with that.
Put the VHF on the list first.

My 585 was probably the best all round rib I've owned or been in.

Welcome to Ribnet.
Congratulations on the your 5.85 - they are great boats. I've got a 5.3 - couldn't quite run to the 5.85, but I think it's the one I'd have chosen in an ideal world.
They are very dry & seaworthy boats - I know my 5.3 will take stronger weather than I'd risk!
