Boomeranger.

Hi,
I have e-mailed Boomeranger a few times for info. I am seriously thinking of getting one of their boats if I manage to sell mine well. I have never received an asnwer from them. Does anyone know if this is normal with them?
Failed that, has anyone got an suggestions for a comparable rib?

Mike Ring is one of the best powerboat designers around. Been building boats for many years.

Sorry but it is not. C-Rib is the brand name for Parker Ribs in Sweden

Whoops I forgot to mention the bigger Parker RIBs and the Quinqaris - a lot depends on what you want to use it for.

Another one of interest could be Crompton which are under new management i think.

the boomeranger rane is sold by a company called buffers in Sweden i belive you find the at www.ersmarine.se, the boats are expensive and they deliver most boats for Navy and rescue, I would rather look at Ring powercraft, as they are not that expensive or the Revenger 34, we were fitting twin Yamaha f350 on a Revenger 34 yesterday, but we need to gochange the engine from 25 to 30" shaft as the propps started to cavitate, the only prop for the F350 is no performance prop and therfore the engien has to be mounted only 1-2 cm above the transom keel.

But we maneged to get the boat in plan and got 36 knots at 3500 rpms, we dident test any top speed

i guess you are reffering to the man how started the company Fjordrafting, the company is sold and the new owner has experienced the Verado nightmare and therfor he decided too change the Verado's for new Yamaha F350.

Last year he paid 10 000 Euros in repar cost on one verado and it took 8 weeks to get a complete gasket kit for the engine.

The company Fjordarafting has two boats a Revenger 29 and a 34, the 29 has twin Suzuki 250 Engines and the 29 is driven harder than the 34 and so fare the Suzuki engines has run witout any problems at all.


And belive me, there is a reason why allmost every charter company in Norway and Sweden have Suzuki engines on their boats

Regarding the F350 engiens we just have to wait and see what their made of regarding quality.


Im not so shure that the the F350 engine is any faster than the Suzuki 300 because you have higher weight, bigger gearcase, only one prop can be used and the engines cavitation plate has to be mounted allmost flush with the keel max lift is 1-3 cm then the Prop starts too cavitate, all this causes a lot off drag an reducing top speed ( verado engines where mounted 14 cm over the keel on the Revenger 34, the F350 cavitated so badly that it was hard to get the boat in plan with engiens mounted 8 cm over the keel) the Suzuki 300are lighter, you can uese mercury props and lifting the engiens 6-8 or more would be any problems

Yes sorry I mixed you up with Fjordrafting.

It's always great to get feedback from you people though as you use your equipment so hard. If you don't break it then it should be fine for most people!!!

I agree on the 350 V8 - it is a stupid weight. I would love to fit a V8 but will stick to a 300 - do you have any experience of the Evinrudes?

talking of V8s Johnson used to make a V8 about 400hp that weighed the same as a modern 225 - must have been incredible!!!

Only experience with Evinrude on charter boats here in Norway is that the bracket have broken on couple of rib's and that the first e-tec engines hade some issues with mechanical engine failure
