The advert....

For sale is our much loved family boat, owned by ourselves from new.

Our boys are now young men and sadly our family days out have come to an end.
We have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this boat.
It has been the ultimate all rounder whether it be used for water sports such as skiing etc, dropping anchor and having lunch or simply getting us from A to B comfortably in rough or calm weather.
The seating configuration comfortably accommodates 8 people whether it be for social lounging or in transit.
This also provides deceptive storage space under the jockey seats aswell as under the centre console. The largest storage is located under the rear bench seat even allowing for ski's and boards to be securely stored.
There is also an anchor compartment under the front seat with drainage.
The four stroke 100hp Yamaha engine provides excellent economy without compromising performance when needed.
The Bramber roller trailer makes launching and recovery an easy task.
Also Fitted:-
Simrad chart plotter
Pioneer cd player
2x Marine speakers
Both boat and engine have been extremely well maintained being kept in dry storage every winter since new.
It has been cleaned, and engine flushed though with fresh water, after every use aswell as being regularly serviced with Yamaha.
We have loved this boat! and have no doubt its next owner will too!

It takes less than 10 seconds to find original picture on google and the original ebay advert where the scammer has copied and pasted the detail from the advert...

So thank you Boats and Outboards.....

I bet your new look web site has cost loads and I'm sure your news stories do too as well as the emails you send.

But why don't you focus on what you do as a primary role and make sure that your adverts are not scams

If you look at the right hand side of the google search you will also see that the scammer has used this on Friday-ad too, but this time it's for sale in hull....

The trouble is, if they start vetting adverts, they might be held responsible if one of them is a scam. So the safest thing to do from their perspective is not to vet them and delete them if they're reported.

But of course, this makes it no less annoying to see ads on the web cluttered up with a lot of frauds though.

Crazy number of fraudulent adverts on this site. We were expecting the new site to be a lot more proactive in the prevention of scam adverts but its not!

To be clear, despite our name on here we are Boatsandoutboards4sale and have nothing to do with the running of this site, other than being a trade member on there under our company name Boatsandoutboards4sale

.

REALLY?? You think an advertising company can be held liable for for an advert slipping through what would be some pretty simple checks to avoid a whole host of other rouge adverts being on their website??
I don't think this is the reason why they don't do it.
1. It would take time & effort, therefore money to do even simple checks.
2. They are collecting income from those placing the rogue adverts.

Why would they want to stop it!! 😉

I've been trawling B&O everyday for a month now looking for an outboard and its FULL of obvious scams.

The Isle of Cumbrae, Shetland and Orkney appears in a lot of scam listing.

The individual that is using Isle of Cumbrae is using pictures that are clearly from America or the likes.

Yes. My source: a lecture I attended recently on Social, Legal, Ethical and Professional Issues in Systems Engineering.

But does the Social, Legal, Ethical and Professional Issues change when there is a privacy number attached to the advert that someone must get the revenue from?

B&O do vet the adds before they go live and they can do more before they allow content on their site that is obviously a scam.

It just takes a few seconds longer and the right training.

B&O are pushing their new look brand hard but their basic housekeeping is not in order.

I've given up responding to anything on B&O unless it's a dealer posting. I'm sure there must be some genuine private sellers out there but they're obviously not selling the kind of kit I'm looking for.

Dragging and dropping the image into Google Image Search can be all it takes.

I don't think there are many scammers on Apollo Duck etc do it must be possible for B and O to vet better. If they charged £2 per advert to cover time to carry out basic security checks it would clean the site up overnight. My last boat was re-listed on B and O by a scammer BEFORE my own genuine ad was withdrawn !

I looked at B&O (amongst others) last year when I was looking to get my rib and I did come across a couple of obvious scammers. To be fair to them, when I reported the potential issues they investigated, removed the advert and phoned me back to apologise/confirm their actions. Apolloduck also did the same with one that I found on there.
