Boat weights

Do you really know how much your boat and trailer weigh?

Just been to a public weighbridge - with the boat on a 750kg unbraked trailer.
The rig weighs in at 1045 kg

I see a new trailer in my future, but pleased I avoided a problem on a long tow,
or with the police/DOT checkpoint.

Just to be told the weight by the operator cost me nothing at all.
I wonder how many members know what their boat and trailer weigh?

There's been lots of discussion on here about boat weights. As a result, I have this unproven theory that all boats weigh at least 25% more than their owners think.

Mine weighed much more than the manufacturer thought and I had to have the trailer hitch and wheels/tyres uprated. Fortunately, it was already a braked trailer.

I didn't take any chances on the current boat. My double axle trailer is rated about twice the expected weight of the boat on it............

The Gemini Waverider spec says boat weighs 300kg !!!
Must be bare boat - tubes and hull.
That means console, seats, tank, fuel, A frame, Tohatsu 90 - come to
550 kilos! bit more than I thought.
