Boat storage in Portsmouth area

As many of you will know I'm starting at Portsmouth uni in September. I am intending to bring one of my RIBs with me. Can anyone tell me a good place in or very near Portsmouth where I can keep a RIB (either 3m or 4.1) on it's trailer. I will have my car down there too so can launch my self. Odviously somewhere that's secure is essential. What am I likley to have to pay for storage like this?

Tim

NOt an easy one! THere arent many houses with garages in pompey. I'm keeping mine temporarily at Southsea Marina - thats cost 2.80/day (short term deal) and its on a trailer on the hard. I'm sure either the place where the uni sail - (Tudor SC) or somewhere similar would do a deal

Try Northney marina Hayling Island
The slip is useable at any state of the tide good washing down and a secure trailer park and if you time you launch you can get out to the solent under Hayling Island bridge and out though eastney I dont know what the storage charge is though.

My boat is at Northney, as someone else mentioed the facilities are good. Check MDL web site, as example i pay about 1100 quid a year but that for a 7.5, it get a little cheaper as the lenght goes down per meter

At Hythe (MDL) the minimum length is around 5.5m, even for short stay!

A student who owns a RIB is skint because he spent all his money on the boat and so has been living off bread, water and cheaper watery carling.

Unless he is sponsored in which case he can afford to butter the bread and pay the gas bill to toast it
