Boat insurance

Can any of you recommend any good companies for replacement insurance for a rib, engine and trailer.

Ours is due for renewal soon and want to see if we have any preferred companies

Thanks in advance

I have always been happy with Mercia Marine - both price and quality of cover. They offer instant online quotes and are a marine insurance specialist rather than a motor insurance broker that offers boat insurance.

Try a broker called Traffords I've used them and find them very competitive😄

On the subject of insurance.
7.9m rib unknown manufacturer
Unknown age.
Anyone know where I can get insurance without having the cost of a survey having to be carried out.

The catch with many of the cheap online policies can be pretty restrictive conditions - eg on driver age/experience/qualifications, exactly where the boat is kept, distance offshore, solo use, anchoring/mooring overnight, whatever. Boring, but read the wording to check for aspects that matter to you. Not the cheapest, but I've found Noble to be pretty flexible on that sort of thing (and not to have much of it in the standard policy anyway) - and to have been very good on claims (not for the rib thankfully, but other boats)

I've used Bishop Skinner marine for both a rib and a yacht, don't have anyone to compare them to, however in the two times I've had to make a claim they have been excellent.

I was with Bishop Skinner for years until I found out that they were basing my premium on my valuation, which was the purchase price, but only paid out market value. Beware. I now have an agreed value policy with Mercia Marine.

+3 for porthcawl. Never had to claim but agreed value and sits on a mooring for more than half a year.

+4 for porthcawl. Boat on mooring, or home no worries, and good claims service when the tender got nicked :-)
