I had a boat stolen a few years ago, I supplied the insurers with a photo of the rear of the boat that showed the lock in place. They were happy with this. They did go on to pay out but deducted a further 10% as the boat was not stored in a locked compound. This clause was in the nano print on the back of the policy. It was kept in a marina with a barrier but this apparently did not count. Still makes me a little angry 8 years later. Good luck with your claim.

50% deduction wheel clamp not fitted at the time. The fact it was hitch locked and chained not good enough. I could guarantee i would be past a wheel clamp in 5 minutes flat. If i can do it im sure the can, after all they managed to get 186 kilo enginee off in no time!..... ticking a little, fill like the villian not the victim. Ps wheel clamp not fitted as i had just finished changing wheel bearing breaks etc.... costly mistake.
