No not joking! Told to me by a Police Officer about 4 years ago as I was repairing her TV.

After that I got Tracker fitted in the Land Rover! Plus some other security features of my own design, to address weak points in the Land Rover Defender.

Don't know if they still have the same policy. She said it was the way stolen Land Rovers are driven, and the danger to other motorists caused by the thieves "using them as a battering ram in traffic"

On the subject of persuing stolen stuff....

A few years ago a chap was explaining to me how he had his boat stolen from a yard up on in London way, how it was only one of two ever made - totally bespoke design etc ..as this happened it cruised past us on the river at Christchurch .

He called the police and within minutes we had an ARV , local unit, marine unit & chopper ! The stolen boat headed up river ( a daft move as no where to go at that point ) and ended up abandoned in the bushes . Needles to say he got it back (it wasnt insured ) and even found the trailer abandoned up the road.

Anyhow - fingers crossed the insurers get this sorted ASAP for you and give you a decent settlement, and loss adjustors etc are good & fair . Any worries around this feel free to PM me .

Police near me in Cheshire will not pull over known criminals with a 'fire arms alert' tagged to their vehicle, if the criminals are in their car and have a bulb out or speeding. In the past this was the only way of catching these guys, now the police have to stay away from them, unless they are armed.....

The police need to have more teeth, I can actually feel the country sinking into a state of lawlessness from every angle ....

No sure why all the police in the UK can't be armed, especially in this day and age, my mate was stopped in Arizona for doing 33 in a 30 zone, he was pulled over and had a gun pulled on him by the local rozza, never did him any harm.

Totally disagree. I lived in Arizona a good few years and 'enjoyed' some yob sticking an Uzi in my face just because I objected to his loud music. If the Police had them then others would want them too.

Possibly because they don't want to be and the system works better if they're not? After a couple of decades having had my "details" taken by cops pointing Heckler & Kochs at me, let me assure you that it's not a nice feeling...
