Some boats in Chichester Harbour have old CD's swinging on a line. Guess the flashing light seems to scare them.

Yeh, but in the States they love guns. I went back to this guys farm once to see his gun collection and squeeze a few rounds off. I kid you not, he had 280 guns mainly pistols and rifles including some real old ones used in the civil war. All were working, but the one that surprised me was mounted on the back of a Willys Jeep. He towed this down to Nevada or somewere to shoot the S*t out of anything that moved.

Nick, I've seen CDs blowing in the wind as well.

Try running a line from your A-frame to the console (or some other point near the bow) Then hang a light piece of fishing net off this so that it covers the RIB like a tent overhanging the tubes. If you run three lines in and out through the fishing net, ie: one down the middle and one at the edges either side it makes it very easy to set up each time and the fish net won't blow away. All you have to do is tie the middle rope and then tie the two ropes at the edges to some thing on your tubes.

I don't know why this works but it does!! Stops them from landing on the RIB and keeps her nice and clean . Plenty of Ribs over here have it done!!

A Deterrent

Try tying old CDs out on a piece of chord spaced about two feet apart. Arrange to have this line suspended from stem to stern......The Gulls don't like it! The deterrent blows gently in the breeze and the silvery reflection deters them.

Made in Scotland.

Some of those owl and falcon decoys come with swivel or bobble heads, which makes them look much more realistic.
