Best place for fuel near Oban...

Hi Guys,
Just found out that Puffin divers are no longer supplying fuel at their pontoon.
Anyone know of any solution that does not involve hoofing it with jerrycans to the Tesco..
Cheers
Aaron

Be careful if you find no other water side petrol .
At one gas station just out of Oban they just shut off the pump when they saw simple plastic canisters .
I got for a friend and myself a set of Scepter military canisters and they are approved for petrol .

We've always filled up at the Tesco in Oban, never had a problem filling Scepter cans.

I've not heard of dockside petrol on the west coast? Maybe someone has good news? You Dublin lads are totes spoiled IMO

Tesco was the obvious goto for cans - I'd be sneaky IIWY.

May I ask are you trailering or cruising north? If you're cruising then you have several ALMOST dockside options to consider. Sort of topping up locations, if you get my drift...

In Scotland you have TWO places that you can fill up from a pontoon with petrol – Largs & Portavadie !

We pass two BP service stations on the way to Inverkip one will only allow one petrol can to be filled but the other is more than happy for me to fill my 6x25ltr cans !

Petrol at a pontoon in Scotland

Ok I stand corrected THREE places to get petrol at a pontoon in Scotland

1 - Largs – On water, 24 hour diesel and unleaded petrol
2 - Portavdie
3 - Holy Loch
0 - Troon - On-water 24 hour fuel dock serving diesel

If you are boatin out of the Oban area fuel/petrol is easy to get at Tobermory if you have jerry cans short walk to the petrol station.

If you are going from oban to largs/troon/holyloch/portavadie for fuel I would argue you didn't need it, that is some detour!

P.s James watt sells petrol btw, the clyde has decent coverage.

Appreciate all the feedback
