Best of three boats?

What would you go for?

Ribeye 6m, 100HP Yammy.

Solent 6.5m, 150HP Merc.

Ribtec 585, 125HP Merc.

All about 10 years old, all with trailers and plenty of seating. All are similar price range in terms of £ per meter.

What would you plump for, for pottering around the Islands?

NB Not for me, so purely leisure boating.

My thoughts which led me to the Solent.

I've seen some good things written about the Solent and the Ribtec, and have personal good experiance of both.

The Yammy although a good engine is a bit small for a 6M boat in my opinion.

In a choppy or confused sea the Ribtec is good, but the extra length of the Solent would smooth things out for a better ride.

The Solent has a lot more space on board than the Ribtec.

I just don't like the look of the Ribeye. Sorry but that's just a personal opinion.

The only real downside to the Solent is the extra weight, length etc if you are towing it on the road a lot, which dependant on the distances involved might make me consider the Ribtec again. But bearing in mind the location, I didn't think long distance towing would be involved.

And the Solent 6.5m is more like 6.7 overall length
