Can anybody tell me where is the best place to get good cheap insurance for my rib, 4m avon rib with yam 55hp outboard????

Cheapest is not always best ! Call some local /specialist brokers who advertise in mags & ask the sensible questions - do I need an OB lock? Does it need to be clamped/locked when on trailer? Are 'accesories'(life jackets /electrics) covered - is it covered driving down to launch it ? Cant go far wrong if you do that.

Hi, today we've just started out annual search for quotes. last year the best came out as " navigators and general", but we are also getting a quote from " porthcawl".

As promised here's my summary of quotes for our rib, listed to the left. The quote are fairly straight forward, no tubes/toys or skiing, and based on £10k, and does include legal assistance (£10 to £12)

Last place Euromarine -- Euromarine whooriginally quoted £240, but when
I phoned to query it, they dropped it to £191.

Second Place -- Navigator and General (Zurich) my current insurers
£175, they do not however operate a no claims
policy.

The winner -- Porthcawl at £133, including a 10% no claims bonus.

I'm still looking through their T&Cs but it looks good so far and they were helpfull on the phone.
