Alex, why are you discounting using the Disco as a tow vehicle?

It failed the MOT big time, but I have had all the work done now so it's going for another test tomorrow.

Fingers crossed and all that

So, you've got a tow vehicle that'll tow something bigger...

Whisper - can't remember if you said you have trialed a 585 but next time were out your welcome to have a blast to help with the elimination process.

How much does a 630 go for secondhand? Loved the Black Magic pics although I think that was a 650?

Farewell to "Black Magic"
Hi Whisper, the 630 has been upgraded and is now only available as the 650

Are you thinking diesel of petrol?

in 2003 I took my first Parker 630 to St . Malo and the following year to Cherburg so no worries here about channel crossing not to mention Jan (DNV) who has made several trips to the island of Helgoland

Sadly there are no demo 650s available at the moment. A petrol model maybe available later this year

as for towing then it has to be a 4 x 4 .

With a *just* big enough, lightweight trailer, a Volvo XC70 is doing a good job

Below shown off Helgoland, well protected against a F8-9 :-)

Thanks, how much would a secondhand 650 diesel be without the suspension seats?

1, Suitable for 2 growing kids (5 and 6 years old).

2, Be able to tow with a family sized car.

3, Launch and recover single handed.

4, Good for the longer cruises like Alderney (without kids)

5, Must be able to hit around 40 knots (without kids)

I was thinking 5.8 - 6.5m ? May be Osprey, Ribtec or Ribcraft?

Thanks in advance

the only secondhand 6 to 6.5 metres i'd be looking at would be a Scorp or an Osprey I think you'd find the Ribtec wallowy in the Sea and The Ribcraft are also good.

If memory serves there was also a 6.5 coastline with a diesel that was nifty
