Bending perspex

I've been trawling google trying to find out the best way to bend perspex to make myself a screen for my console. Found lots of good advice but it's all to with model making and furniture.
So if anyone has tried it, what thickness is best and what heating method did you use?

On a side note I came across this on new scientist...toys turing young boy's into pillow biters?

So from reading the article I should stop licking my boats screen / tubes etc as doing this would explain my need for a bra ?

I've done 45 and 90 degree bends for cabin doors etc, in 10 & 12 mm. Used an infra red lamp and an MDF buck, don't leave the heat on for too long though or it goes all wobbly like a jelly!

Do you think I could do it softly softly with a heatgun?

There's been a few threads on here in the past - just try a search for 'perspex' or 'makralon'.

I vaguely recall someone on here doing them to order.
