Bench seats

Hi Guys,

I did do a search but couldn't find any info for a boat as old as mine!

I have a 5.3 humber attaque circa 1984 as far as I can tell.

I have a double jocky console but would like to put a bench in the back (for family and kitting up diving)
Something like the BS18A but I can't really stretch to a new one!

I did contact Ian (I think) on here but he doesn't do anything for such a narrow beam.

Does anyone have any ideas on what would suit and where to find a used one?!

Hi,
I've been looking to do the same thing on my rib - for me it's about making it a bit more family friendly.
There are a few manufacturers but they most bench's seem to be specific to the individual hull, so you might try contacting Humber, another alternative is Leeway, see the link below.

I did find another maker at the Southampton Boat Show - Outhill, but they seemed more expensive

Good luck and let me know how you get on.

Steve

How about putting a widish seat base on a jockey console that's turned sideways. Alternatively you can contact Osprey RIBs or Leeway on the Isle of Wight, they should be able to supply what you're after at a decent price. One other person to have a chat with is rickuk3 on this forum.

I had one off Leeway and it was ideal for a narrower Rib and well made.

For Sale

I have a Ribcraft Deluxe swing-back Bench seat. White gel, black upholstery with grey piping. Barley used. Cost me £995.00! Footprint measures 500mm x 1000mm. Double access hatches (black). Pre drilled for RC's 8 point matrix but could be glassed in.

Hoping for a sensible offer!

I believe the Attaque is what is now sold as the O-Pro 2m beam, so do Humber do something for that? Alternatively the "sportsboat" seats for the Avon SR4 should fit, as it is on a ballpark of beam with that....

Just thought I'd add these in to show how simple a bench seat base can be.

The cushion is a sheet of marine ply soaked in varnish with a closed cell foam pad, and all covered by Mrs Nasher in grey vinyl. There are blocks of timber added to stop it sliding forward.

The enclosed Transom on 'The Nashers Revenge' makes mounting the backrest easy of course.
It's held upright by a couple of straps and clips on the sides near the top.
