Beer
Ok I've mentioned it a few times, better try to arrange something.
basic idea is to get a few of us local to Portsmouth together for a beer.
How does this Monday Night sound?
As for the venue, lets get some reactions.
The Royal Oak Langstone - My favorite but a bit small.
The churchillian portsdown Hill - Not my favorite pub but has plenty of space and is central for those on and off the Island.
The Red lion, Charlton - Fantastic pub but not handy, except for me and the guys in Horndean and Petersfield (you know who you are)
The Harbour Lights Cosham - same comments as the Churchillian.
Any others to be suggested.
Don't mind organising it, and will give out my mobile number to anyone who wants it by private message. Can pick others up on the way so beer can be drunk, maybe someone else can do the same next time.
Oh, I do refuse to wear any flowers in buttonhole for identification.
Nasher.

Nasher,
A man after my own heart. Can't possibly make it on a Monday evening 'cos I have to earn my crust up in the smoke but what about doing it sensibly and carefully (no more than 3 pints in any one hostelry) at a weekend.
Wouldn't it make it easier if all the pubs were in the immediate vicinity of harbour walls or pontoons.
OK, now we're back to the usual suspects, The Rising Sun at Warsash, The Kings Head at Yarmouth, The Anchor at Cowes etc. etc.
Which weekend did you have in mind Nasher ?

Sound good as long as it's noit the jolly sailor in Ashlett Creek. Also Nasher/guys girls don't forget the DW Poker run on July the 10th. Excellent fun and a very social event.

Hi all
Whiteshoes, I wasn't thinking of a boat evening, just a get together without putting the boats in the water to talk RIBS. and wasn't thinking of any weekend.
Main idea was a quick drink and chat after work one evening, I work within the M25 too but manage to be home early enough to meet up at around 8pm.
Petes suggestion of the Churchillian is the only one so far.
When the match is over tomorrow and I've got the kids in bed I'll see if there are any more takers and suggest a time and place.
Otherwise it looks like just you and me Pete!

I can do beer. Mondays can be negotiated with SWMBO.
My Landrover club uses the Hogs Lodge (off A3, Butser Hill), Churchillian is not a problem, (mind you, I have not been there since going to Southdows College last time the moon was blue)
Ship at Langstone is good on a fine evening, loads of room outside.
The Castle at Rowlands Castle usually has some space.
Count me in anywhere.
