I think you're right - I seem to remember seeing a few hundred engine hours being mentioned somewhere?

Not another one ?!

So what's the score with Bear Grylls selling "yet another" rib at a hugely discounted price then ????

Tax loophole or something ?

Probably owned by his production company whose accountant has written it's value off against depreciation very quickly for tax purposes. Especially as it's no doubt been used to 'entertain clients'.

Selling it now for more than it's on the production companies asset register for would just cause too many awkward questions.

Nasher.

Strange. first the Cougar, then the RibQuest and now the M-rib. i thought he had an Oceandynamics one at one point as well...

They all seem to be advertised as the same. over £XXX thousand spend. bargain price of £XX

still, lucky man and nice work if you can get it! He was on a the same plane to Singapore with me last year. met by a rather attractive lady as the doors opened. needless to say, he didnt turn right when he boarded the plane!

Born June 1982, John Coffey has been packed in many expeditions and sailing events in his few years, from teenage years organising his College Team Racing team, to logistics and Boat Captain for an Irish Olympic team at Athens 2004.
A keen business man and International adventurer, John has been able to combine the two and travel to all seven continents over the last 4 years.
Having met Bear Grylls at the start of 2009, John was initially involved in the project management of the RIB build, but was swiftly appointment expedition manager by Bear thanks to John's keen eye for detail and dogged work ethic.
Never seen without his Blackberry, John is always looking for his next business opportunity or adventure.
John will not be joining the team on the RIB during the trip, but will be following the journey from close, taking care of all the logistics. He will also deliver the boat from Clyde River to its staring point in Pond Inlet, and collect it afterwards.
