Beadnell Bay Launch - Safety Equipment requirements?

Looking at the Beadnell boat launch facility.

They have requirements for you to register your boat, show insurance and they have a list of safety equipment.

Fair enough.

However, one of the requirements is to carry flares, which personally I do not think are appropriate in a petrol powered boat. I have both handheld and fixed VHF, which in the 21st Century I feel is much more useful.

Do they actually inspect and enforce their rules?

Will they refuse to launch me because I haven't got flares onboard?

Just show Jim your insurance certificate. Nothing else required apart from £25 of course
