Beach Slides

Is there anything like a beach slide around?
Where you beach your RIB onto a pad and then that is slid up the beach away from the tide?
You could have loads of them side by side on a beach like Pentewan.

Oh interesting thought. Would be easier to move the 'pad' if it has wheels on it so it could roll. Perhaps you could connect a hitch to the front so you could pull it up the beach. I suppose you could even use it to store the boat on - perhaps taking the boat home on it !!!

I thought more of a frape type arrangement that would keep your RIB out of trouble overnight on the beach without using one of them wheelie things.

You used to be able to get rollers for heavy dinghies like Wayfarers to roll them up a beach. A Wayfarer is light compared to most ribs.

They were either inflatable (like a bouyancy bag but maybe need to be stronger) or solid cylinder like drain pipe. You need at least 3. Get 2 under the boat and put third in front of boat roll forwards. When back roller comes out the back someone grabs it and puts it at the bow and carries on...

Doing any distance will be slow! So you'd want to do it at high tide and wait for the next high before leaving...

Don't fancy it in surf.

A limited slip diff may help it navigate tight slips, even though this idea is for beaches.
An LSD for slips and beaches. Cool.

Right, and you get that sort of passive aid for canoes around locks. Why not a wind up apron for a RIB on a beach to get it off the surf?
