Taste good too, as long as you gut/skin them quickly.

Thank you guys for all your help and advice, much appreciated. Will give this a shot. Patience is needed. The Ribeye will be finished tomorrow, so will have a go from this too.

Tom , the fish are only just starting to return due to the cold spring and the water temp, but the bass are starting to return and we catch from the beach in Norfolk with lugworm or peeler crabs .
The mackerel are slowly returning too and these are mostly caught on black feathers from my rib .
It has been a really slow start to the season but practice and local area knowledge is always the way forward .
Good luck .

Boat fishing is much easier. Just keep an eye out for anchored fishing boats and anchor up close by.

The word good should never be used in relation to a dogfish!
Having said that the first time I dived with the guy who became my more or less permanent dive buddy I picked up a doggie from the seabed, gave it a bit of a shake and then let it swim off. He was horrified! Swam after it like a thing posessed, knife out, doggie pinned to a rock and beheaded He collected another few of 'em and then found the bag of swimming headless dogs was becoming a bit of a hindrance. We were only in 15m or so, off up to surface and handed to girlies in the boat. Now they were expecting lobsters so as we left the surface again it was to the sound of screams from the boat crew. We let him eat his doggies alone that night (yuk!), scallops and lobsters for the rest of us.

Nah, a boneless fish that tastes that good shouldn't be ignored
