Bashed up boat towed in to Hamble Saturday

On the way back from not going to the Priory Bay BBQ I was overtaken by shed loads of powerboats going back to Southampton. Passing Hamble there was a what looked like one of them being towed by the lifeboat and it looked like it was well smashed up.

I didn't get a good look - anyone know what happened? It was about 16.00 on 7.7.07.

As far as I am aware it wasn't one of the Poker Run boats
