Barton Fuel Whistle
After getting covered in unleaded yet again (any Ribcraft owner will know the feeling) I bought a Barton Fuel Whistle from here:

Takes minutes to fit & works brilliantly, why did I wait so long???
It emits quite an ear piercing whistle during filling which turns into a gurgle just before the tank fills & then stops completely when full.
Best tenner I've spent all week, highly recommended[emoji106]

cracking gizmo, ribcraft design does suck for the overflow as it blows it right in your eye level when filling up on the trailer, will get myself one of these ordered up bud.

PD I've mounted mine just like you've got yours except I used the bench grinder to remove the corner mouldings for the fixing holes before I fitted it (cable tied to the main fuel filler hose). I was concerned in the long term those corners may lead to chaffing.

you would need to be careful putting one on some chinese boats, the insurance may not be happy you are doubling the value of the boat by adding a £15 part.

Well, I did specify some boats, I'm sure not all are bad.
Handful of decent Chinese built ribs knocking about, just a case of picking wisely or pay your money and take your chance.

Glad to see you guys and girls took that in good humour !!! spoilt my thoughts as I thought those ribcrafts were faultless ,
anyway I did have the same problem on my Canadian sports boat ,turned out to be a blocked air vent which vented integral under the cap ,was full of white chrome plating which had flaked off ,was like a petrol shower when it blew ,especially if you did,nt put the petrol pump nozzle right in

I think the problem is that the filler is quite low down on the console, so the filler pipe is relatively short. There's hardly any warning that the tank is full before it splashes back. You can listen & hear the fuel gurgling up the filler pipe, but you need quiet & cat like reactions.

Apologies for thread resurrection!
Looking to install a couple of fuel whistles to my RIB after too many overflows. Was hoping someone with some personal experience could help please. I normally refuel the boat with a 3/4" jiggle siphon from a 25L tank to save towing the boat to the fuel station. Does anyone do the same and know if the flow rate (seems to be about half a forecourt pump) is enough to properly activate the whistle?
