It's there branding on a uk web site, I'd guess normal commercial rules apply. Tag in a shop says 20, get to the till and they say 40, they're screwed!!
Get to the till... If they don't want to sell you it at that price they don't have to. They just have to remove it from sale for 24hrs...

Hmmm, not sure of the exact legals but I've been told it and it's happened twice over the years and it's been honoured.

Either way, shit website that doesn't promote confidence.

Fully agree, I was also honoured the price on the tab the other day, it said 14 for a camera filter on the tab, and mr currys man said 30 at the till,
I ask "why does it say 14 on the stand then, this is nothing other than false advertising, disapoining to the customer," and legally frowned upon.
I must say they kindly honoured the price without hesitation.

Good customer service is not a legal requirement, he can simply refuse to sell if he so wishes. Of course it's often smarter to satisfy the customer then correct the price.

I've had some success with this in the past provided they accept payment initially you've entered into a contract........ Otherwise they can refuse to sell you the item !

My local co-op are useless for leaving expired offer tickets on the shelf normally get the deal there is a term E & O E (which cover their arse) but if they dont rectify the error once informed then are in breach IIRC.

Anyway Rib hire can't really help but loads of marine engineers cant one fix it before you go out?

Fair point Poly, I have consulted with swambo, and she confirms its not a legal requirement, more a courtesy as you suggest.

It's called "misrepresentation" legally .....so shop advertises an item for 10 and you think bargain, go to till and it's 20 .... The store has" induced " you into a purchase contract position with an "offer" of 10 and your "acceptance" (a contract under the sale of goods act). The store has no choice but to honour the price quoted. That's law and you can push it.

Don't walk away when this happens stand your ground they have nowhere to go.
